Evangelization: Missionary Disciples
We pray that every baptized person may be engaged in evangelization, available to the mission, by
being witnesses of a life that has the flavor of the Gospel.

II. OUR BISHOP SPEAKS
A Synodal Church

Dear Fathers, Brothers, Sisters,

I would like to talk to you about the forthcoming Synod organised by
the universal church. Synodal church loudly proclaims the essence of
the church; it is the people‟s church. The church should be a loving
home of all the baptized where everyone enjoys freedom, fraternity,
participation, respect et al. Synod indicates the path along which the
people of God walk together with Jesus, the way (Jn 14:6). This is a
common journey together, considered both a gift and a task. In the
Synodal church diverse members of the church learn from one
another‟s experiences and perspectives guided by the church.

Synodality denotes the particular style that qualifies the life and mission of the church. The
Holy Spirit and Jesus himself help us to live the mission of the Gospel. The Synodal church
is inclusive and is ready to accomodate the opinion of the non-baptized too.

Synodality is an integral part of the church where no one is left out.

Synodal church journeys together in communion to pursue a common mission through the
participation of each and every one of her members. The church, as we know, is dynamic.

According to Pope Francis, it is precisely the path of Synodality which God expects of the
church of the third millennium.

It is our „journeying together‟ which most effectively enacts and manifests the nature of the
church as the pilgrim and missionary people of God.
