A Brief History :
Vemboor originally was a substation to Nagalapuram. When Kottur was bifurcated from Nagalapuram, Vemboor was attached to Kottur. Vemboor was made a separate parish on 20th May 2003 by Bishop Peter Fernando. The Holy Infant Jesus Church at Vemboor was built by Rev. Fr. Mark Stephen S.J., the parish priest of Kottur and was blessed by Bishop Peter Fernando on 20th May 2003. The original Vidiyal Dispensary of T.M.S.S.S. was converted into a residence of the parish priest, as the dispensary was shifted to a new spacious hospital building.

During the tenure of Rev.Fr. Joseph Ladislaus, he built a huge tower honouring God the Father.  Rev.Fr. Mariadas Lipton laid paver blocks in front of the church yard and built two grottos honouring St. Antony and Our Lady of Veilankanni by the side of the main gate.
