A Brief History :
Inigo Nagar area was once the substation to Our Lady of Snows Basilica. The migrant catholics settlers of Inigo Nagar grew in number and there was a felt need of appointing a priest to take care of the spiritual needs of the people. The Jesuit priests who were at Xaveriana were asked to look after the catholics of Inigo Nagar. Eventally it was made into a parish and was entrusted to the care of the Jesuits. The contract that was made between the diocese and the Jesuits was that, that one of their priests who was teaching at St. Francis Xavier’s School could be the parish priest as a part time job. On 1st January 2003, Bishop Peter Fernando declared Iniga Nagar as a New parish. Rev. Fr. Stanislaus S.J. was appointed as the first parish priest. Rev. Fr. S.M. D’ Almaida had already built the church, and was blessed on 15th June 1971. A mandapam was added to the Church by Rev.Fr. Paul Robinston in 1997 and the sacristy was built by Rev.Fr. Joseph Rathinaraj in 2003. Rev. Fr. Rajesh build a new altar and made the church into concrete building. The bell tower was built by Rev.Fr. Benjamin De Souza and was blessed by Most Rev. Bishop Yvon Ambroise. Rev.Fr. Jeyakumar started the work of modifing the altar, and was completed by Rev.Fr. Joseph Christian in 2018. Rev. Fr. Jesudas Fernado built the bresbytery and Most Rev. Bishop Stephen blessed and opened it on 10th July 2021. Rev. Fr. Jesuraja G. extended the altar, renovated the church interior and blessed and opened it on 1st July 2022.
