A Brief History :
Already in 1930, at the wish of Bishop Tiburtius Roche a small Church was built in Subbaiah Muthaliarpuram. The area, which was attached to the Cathedral parish, was bifurcated, on 25th January 1956, and became a separate parish. Rev. Fr. Nicholas was appointed as the first parish priest of the new parish. The foundation stone, for the present Church, was laid on 8th September 1969 by Bishop Thomas Fernando. With strenuous efforts of Rev. Fr. Nicholas, the parishioners and especially of Mr. John Motha, the Church construction was completed. On 25th March 1972 the Church was blessed by Bishop Ambrose Mathalaimuthu. The presbytery was built by Rev.Fr. Aloy Navamony (1974 – 1979). The Silver Jubilee of the dedication of the new parish Church was celebrated on 20th September 1997 with our three former Bishops, when Rev.Fr. Cedric was the parish priest. In the time of Rev. Fr.V. Irudayaraj (2007) the altar was renovated. On the occasion of the 400th year of the canonization of St. Charles Borromeo, the patron of the parish, celebrated on 04th November 2010. A Novena for the patron saint was started by Rev.Fr. J. Arul Kumar, the parish Priest.

The Golden Jubilee of the parish church was grandly celebrated on 25th March, 2022 by the present parish priest Fr. M. Silvester Fernando.
