A Brief History :
Annanagar parish, dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, was bifurcated from Charles Borromeo parish of Subbaiah Muthaliarpuram in Thoothukkudi, and was made into a separate parish on 1st of July 1992 by Bishop S.T. Amalnather. The presbytery was built by Rev. Fr. Job De Rose, the then parish priest of Sr. Charles Paish, Boltanpuram. The church was built by Rev. Fr. Aloysius in 1994 and was blessed by Bishop Amalnather and Rev. Fr. Irudayaraj Fernando modified the old Altar. The belfry was built by Rev. Fr. Bruno Moduthagam. Rev. Fr. Michael Jegadish introduced family card in the parish. Rev.Fr. R.S. Augustine built a meeting hall by the side of the church. Rev. Fr. Mariadas Lipton laid paver block around the church and installed new 20 KVA Cummins Diesel generator for the church. The Stage in the church campus and the church entrance were modified and built by Rev. Fr. John Benson. The church campus wall was heightened and small grottos for St. Micahel and Our Lady of Snows at the side entrance of the church campus were built during the period of Rev.Fr. Sahayam J.
