every five minutes a woman or a child is trapped and sometimes killed. The dailies report of these
disgusting events every day. What does Jesus’ birth reveal us in this situation?

Jesus had a great respect for women and children. He set them as example of piety, generosity,
nobility, hospitality and availability. He enjoyed much to be at the presence of children as they are
members of the Kingdom of God. He treated the women with honour and employed them to be the
messengers of the Gospel. He would be greatly wounded and deeply hurt if a slight harm is done to
            them.

As we celebrate the birth of our saviour, let us form a good strong resolution to support the cause of
justice and respect for women and children.

This would be a meaningful and worthy celebration of Christmas.

A Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

                                                          Events:

02.11.2021 - A new building for the pilgrims in Uvari was blessed and Mass was celebrated at the
Shrine. The people were very happy. Congratulations to Fr. Dominic Arul Valan, Fathers and Deacons
and the parish committee who organised it all.

02.11.2021 - We had a meaningful Mass at the cemetery. There was as considerable number of people
in the cemetery to pray. A special thanks to Fr. Jesudoss and the team of Fatimanagar.

04.11.2021 - We discussed how to reach out to our people and make them participate meaningfully in
the Synodal meetings. Thanks to Fr. James Victor and participants.

06.11.2021 - We had a fruitful sharing during the meeting on our diocesan centenary celebrations.

13.11.2021 - Kootapanai people (TMSSS Fishermen Society) thanked the Lord for His sustained help
to preserve unity and grow in strength. Congrats to them and to Fr. Benzigar Lution.

14, 21 & 21.11.2021 - I had the joy of presiding over the Corpus Christi procession, Vespers and
Adoration and Mass in the Cathedral. In spite of the inclement weather, people came and participated
in all the events. Thanks Frs. Joseph Rolington, William S. P., parish council, people and the youth.

21.11.2021 - The meeting with the children at Kallamozhi and the members of fishermen society
revived the spirit of all the participants. The children have oratorical talents, they dance like
professionals. The elderly can also revive their rural art like Kazhiyal.

26.11.2021 - I had a fruitful meeting with the Deacons. May God bless them.

                                                                                     Most Rev. Dr. A. Stephen
                                                                                            Bishop of Tuticorin
